Peppermint really felt stress as she checked her email and found no notice from Toulouse. After a few minutes of staring at the inbox, she decided he hadn’t gotten up yet. The Local Bar chat room was up with many screen names enlisted with it, one of those being Dewy.
Pmint_lostintheworld: Did you go talk to KL?
Pmint_lostintheworld: And? What happened?
DewyR_4getit: not much…we talked…
DewyR_4getit: we didnt talk bout that
Peppermint sighed aggravated. “Dewy…”
DewyR_4getit: so, did u intro Jack and Toulouse?
Pmint_lostintheworld: It went well, I guess…better than most times at least.
DewyR_4getit: well, at least he knows now
DewyR_4getit: r u 2 still meeting up wit me later?
Pmint_lostintheworld: I am. Jack wants to do some shopping & what not.
She maximized her inbox again to find it still empty. Now she was really worried. Toulouse was always up around this time of day, emailing everyone. Maybe he had slept late? Or went to work early? She switched back to the chat room. Dewy had signed off. Then another IM popped up on her screen.
KittyKatKat_0shutup: Hey! Whats going on?
Pmint_lostintheworld: Nothing. You?
KittyKatKat_0shutup: not much I no this is on short notice but would ya like 2 hang out 2day?
Pmint_lostintheworld: sure…where we going?
KittyKatKat_0shutup: meet me @ Uncommon Grounds, off South Street
Toulouse paused for a moment before getting out of bed. It was one-thirty in the afternoon, a little late for his usual routine.
“Let me guess.” Called a woman’s voice. “You’ve gotta go.”
“You’ve got me figured out, don’t cha, Sasha?” he chuckled.
“It doesn’t take very long to figure out a dog.”
“You’re one to talk.” He gathered his clothes and swiftly put them on.
“Nevermind.” She sighed, standing up.
Toulouse wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her closer to him. “You’ve got quite the attitude this morning.”
She took a deep breath. “Saving it up for the rest of the afternoon.”
“Sounds like something’s bothering you.”
“No, nothing, you’ve just gotta leave all the time.” She huffed. “So where are you meeting your other girlfriend?”
Toulouse shook his head. “There’s no other and that’s final. If you must know, I’ve got to go to work.”
Sasha stood with her arms crossed as he gathered the rest of his things. “Have a nice day.”
“You too.” He called back before slamming the door.
