Writer Notes: This will be a three parter. So get ready!
Warnings: awkward moment, slurring of words, tiredness, smells of food, and holy crap shut the door!
“Kassidy…” Sasha shook her head. “I don’t know what you were expecting, but this is my party and I invite who I want to invite.”
Obviously KL had drank too much already. She kept having to rebalance herself. Her words were all slurred. And she was a lot more bitcher when she was drunk.
Shane ignored the girl talk. He had been declared grill master and had a lot of burgers to burn.
“Why are ya all da way over here?” Shane shook his head. “Sally, dere’s a whole partay waitin’ on ya.”
“I know…I just…I just wanted to talk to ya about something.”
“Oh brother.” he sighed. “What’s goin’ on?”
“I think…I’m…” she tried to think of the right words.
“Stop stallin’.” Shane said. “Just tell me if ya wanna tell me.”
“I think I’m going to ask Jack out.”
Shane just blinked at her.
“I know this is all awkward because you and me…but I dunno. I wanted to know what ya thought of him before…”
“Sally,” Shane shook his head. “Go talk to him.”
“So you think it’s ok?” she asked.
“He’s got a level head on his shoulders and he’s pretty well off, I hear, so why not?” Shane shrugged. “Ya like him, right? More than a little bit?”
“What’s the frown for?” Dewy asked. “Ya not havin’ a good time, Kass?”
Kassidy rolled her eyes. “What? With dis s-s-stupid set up, please!”
“We might as well be in the slums.” she added.
Dewy shook his head. “You just don’t know a good thing when you see it.” he said. “I’m tired of you.”
Both of them heard it and turned to see Jack laughing. Dewy just sighed.
“She’s been drinking, hey?” Sasha said.
“Yeah.” Dewy took a deep breath, letting it out slowly.
“I think you need to let some stress out.”
“Jack you’re so funny.”
“And you are absolutely stunning.”
But Jack knew he had done wrong. He needed to go look for Dewy and apologize. He wouldn’t however apologize to Kassidy. She deserved the truth.
“Today is such a beautiful day.” Peppermint said. It had been a struggle, but Kat and Drake had managed to get her in the sun. And finally, she smiled and relaxed.
“I’m glad you’re enjoying this.” Kat smiled.
“Me too.” Pmint laughed. “Soon I’m going to be up to my ears in diapers.”
“Don’t you dare leave me with her.” Shane said.
“You’re the one who told me to go talk to Jack…now.”
“I didn’t say now!”
“I smell food.” Twister said.
“Shane’s got some burgers done if you’re ready to eat.” Sally replied.
“Hey,” Sally smiled prettily at Jack. “Can we talk…”
“Sure,” he replied.
“In the house.”
“Whatever you want.”
“The only form of privacy in this place…to the bathroom.”
“Nevermind, let’s just talk out here.”
